Acupuncture Course Overview

The course is designed to provide an introduction to acupuncture. Students will learn some basic concepts of Chinese Diagnosis, the elements, and theories of needling. The practical component of the course will offer the student the chance to try needling and learn some effective points. Students will be instructed to needle in class only.

• Understanding of Qi and its effects on the body
• Application of the laws and the five elements
• Understanding of primary channels, and specific points
• Treat musculoskeletal conditions and pain
• Know and apply acupuncture assessments
• Understand Chinese philosophy of treatment
• Application of Moxibustion, Cupping, and Electro-Acupuncture
• Auricular, Scalp and Hand Acupunctures in treatment protocols
